Hello Charles,

I don't know what you are talking about. I installed it just like I installed PO since 711 with each upgrade. I double clicked the .dmg, open up the ramdisk created, double click on the install icon. I was told by you guys that that will install an update.

Yes, this is correct.  There is one other way to run an installation, and we just wanted to find out which way you upgraded.  Thank you for the information.

None of my user accounts were messed up. My domains that I serve were intact (except for one out of about 10 that went missing, which is still a mystery to me). Also, now I get an error message for each spam filtered message that PO attempts to reject. Each error message tells me that some fake email address that originated the spam like xyz@xxxxxxxxx cannot be reached. Somehow, PO now is trying to return each spam rather than simply dropping the spam into the bit bucket.

Please let me know what you have in your filter definition and I will help you to fix this.  I am also running more testing to attempt to duplicate your upgrade problem and I will let you know what I find.

Sue

Got hundreds of such error messages in my Postmaster account overnight! Help!

Charles

Hi,

Did you use installer.sh to install the package or you used the Aqua based installer?

I tested everything on your list.  None of my setting were blow away.

Note, installer.sh will treat every install as a fresh install.  If you used installer.sh to install

the package, then it explains the problem.  We will keep you inform, if we have

any new findings.

regards,

Eric

I did not see any posting on 715 and since my users are still complaining about multiple recipients in SMTP relay, I thought I would install 715 tonight! Almost had a heart attack!

715 did fix the corruption of postmaster user login as well as not messing up Port settings for PO. BUT:

1. I lost all my domain rewrite table where I rewrite all mail.domainx.com to domainx.com. They were all gone!!!

2. POP before SMTP was reset to OFF with all my changes to the time parameters reset to factory default.

3. Domain completion was changed (same bug in 714). I had it set to mydomain.com and when 715 installs, it reverted to mail.mydomain.com.

4. All my spam filters are GONE!!!!!

Other than that, I have my fingers crossed that the rest of it works as a mail server and Tenon has tested it before release.

Pray for me.

Charles

P.S. Still on MacOS X Server 7.2.1 on xserve.
