SMTP - Normal Mail vs. List Server

On a couple of lists that I'm running, I notice that there's 3 or 4 people
who are bouncing the digests that are sent to them, but if I personally
email them, the mail goes through to them just fine. Is there a difference
in how the mail is getting sent?

I'm thinking that there's a few options:

1. The list's email address's domain is different than what I use to send
out - lists.postphase.com vs. mail.wombatinteractive.com, and that other
servers doing reverse look ups see that the address doesn't match up with
the host name of the computer (which is mail.wombatinteractive.com).

2. Something in the source is triggering a bounce, possibly some kind of
spam filtering on the receiving end.

3. The list server when sending mail isn't as aggressive in looking up
domains, and is more willing to give up when it first can't find something.

Any other thoughts, or actual known issues?
