Hi Rick,
If someone has a POP account and then that person decides to go
IMAP, server no worky. Errors get written with every attempted save
to any IMAP folder. Sue said this would be an issue until you
implement SMTP AUTH.
To clarify this, the issue is that if you're going to restrict relay
by allowing no other relay than your own users (and you can't specify
the IP address of their client machines) then you have to use
POP-before-SMTP. We don't have SMTP-Auth yet, so you have to pop
your mail before you can allow that IP address to relay through your
server. My statement was that if you're using WebEdge, then you
can't set the default for WebEdge to IMAP, it has to be POP, unless
you can allow relay by specific IP. If you can put the IP address in
the Allow Relay From box, then you can use either POP or IMAP.
