Rick,
How much RAM is your iMac? When I first brought my G4 box up, my life
was fraught with grief. Apache would crash as often as once every 24
hours and my cron jobs couldn't bring it back to life. I had to
reboot the machine daily for a while. Eventually, I took a chance
that all of the processes running on my box were just a bit too much
for the 128 MB of RAM on board. So I added a GB of RAM and instantly,
90% of my problems vaporized. Sure, there are things that need
tending to and I'm still learning new things along my 4 year +
journey from Mac to OSX Mac (I started with Mac OSX Server 1.0). But
this OS, Tenon's products, and a GB of RAM make it the best choice
for me.
And anyone that thinks that an Exchange Server will be a better
choice either has more money than they know what to do with or
they're advocating for hiring more people....
my .02,
ken Whitcomb
