actually, i've tried this many, many times to no avail.. it's not possible to edit the forms that take the footer (epilogue text), or the reply text. if those forms are altered, i get an error and have to restore the form from backup.

i've been dealing with this for years and years... it's a strange thing from the beginnings of post.office.

if tenon could alter those forms with text areas and make them (at least) 80 col wide, then we would have the option of using hard line breaks to wrap the text as we please..

was wrapping.

I haven't even started looking into this, but It seems to me that if
there is a way to alter the html code for the web pages, then I could
alter the text box to a larger width and that would do the trick (and I
could use any browser for the headers/footers).

We don't know if you'll be able to get around the idiosyncrasies of the all the various browsers, but, yes, you certainly can alter the html. This isn't recommended, because each time you upgrade Post.Office, you'll have to remember to restore your hand-tailored forms. However, it's quite doable.

You can find the README.txt file that explains how to customize the forms in your Post.Office directory /var/spool/post.office/config/html-forms.
