Great, this is very helpful.

As part of this procedure, I would like to test Post.Office's OSX "user
account" import tool that runs when you install post.office (creates post
office accounts based on pre-existing system accounts). Can this tool be
invoked independently on a per-account basis or any other means than a
complete installation? I have to be careful because for two reasons; first,
*both* machines are live production e-mail servers, and second the netinfo
accounts on the sendmail box were created by a command line script, not the
Apple "add new user" GUI, so there may be some discrepencies.

It seems that Post.Office is based on a fairly straightforward system of
databases that can easily be restored, so I'm not averse to re-installing
Post.Office on my "destination" machine (pantheon).

Thanks,

- Ben

The general procedure is to install Post.Office fresh on the new
machine, (stop the Post.Office service on both machines), "tar up" the
/var/spool/post.office and /var/spool/mailbox directories from the old
machine, move and "un tar" them on the new machine and then restart
Post.Office on the new machine. You'll need to make sure your MX
records point to the new machine. Here is the link to our document
that tells you the procedure:

I hope this is helpful
