My other task tonight is to move our mailing lists over to the
post.office machine. I was told there is an import utility built into
post office. Our current list server is Letterrip. If anyone has any
words of advice or tips on this, I'd be grateful!

The importing is (was) done via script(s) that are run from the terminal; given your time constraint, I would contact Tenon support for direction.

Thanks all for the help!
I'm in a position where we are going to move everything(mailing lists)
TONIGHT. What fun....
I've got a test list configured the way I want and all looks well there.

I'll have the following issue facing me tonight and thought I'd ask now
before everyone leaves the list :)

Right now we have addresses for our lists as such:

list1-on@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
list1-off@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
list1-admin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
list1-digest@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
list1-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx

these addresses go through our main mail server(blueworld.com) and
forward onto the list server(lists.blueworld.com) The list server is
going to be run with Post.Office first- we have 2 licences, and will
set up the regular mail server later)

so I now have list1@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx set up on a machine with DNS of
test.blueworld.com

works great. I'm rather pleased with Post.Office's set up so far-
rather simple and quick. Set up all me headers and everything looks
great.

I want to keep the same email address as we already use, listed above,
but after reading the docs on email commands, It looks like postoffice
will not recognize this. Is there a way around this (In the footers of
each of our lists we have a list1-off@xxxxxxxxxxxxx address that all
they need to do is click on and hit send.) I don't want to have to
explain to them how to add commands in the body of the email for basic
things like subscribe and unsubscribe.

My other task tonight is to move our mailing lists over to the
post.office machine. I was told there is an import utility built into
post office. Our current list server is Letterrip. If anyone has any
words of advice or tips on this, I'd be grateful!

thanks for all your help- I didn't expect to be moving so fast on this,
and normally would have done a bit more homework, but at least I went
through most of the manual this past weekend :)

Since our current list server is having fits and can't keep up, and
since we handle some pretty heavy email lists, we cant afford the
current problems and are thus moving fast on this.

Thanks again for the help!

Primary E-Mail Address:

Additional E-mail Addresses:

jim@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Unfortunately, those addresses immediately above don't allow the user
to reply to msgs. directly from those accounts, they can only reply as
"jim@xxxxxxxxxxxxx".

Aliases are usually better for things like "jsmith@", "james@", and
"jim@" all feeding into one account.
