Thanks for the suggestion. I already tried this option. It seems that the way P.O. writes its message base leads to problems. It has to do with the __cache__ file. Nothing I can find updates this file and P.O. has a royal fit if it does not match the reality of the folder it is sitting in. For this to work, it has to come from Tenon and for some reason, they have no desire to make P.O. extensible.

You can do this with PO's filters, just set the Mail_Addr Field to the
mail_box you want; can be based on source_address, dest_address, header,
or full body content.

...No auto replies however.

filter. It is a full scripting language that you can tie to your email
system (for example, mail comes in, you read the email addresses,
based on
those addresses, you can then generate a custome reply and send)

Take a look at http://www.procmail.org/ to see what can be done.

PO's built-in, server-side mail filtering is the best I've seen; what
sort of filtering it available via "Procmail"?  Why would it be a
better option?
