Re: Can you use a numbered IP for testing?
Tom -
You should be able to... Atleast to test the local machine. Your
machine should have a hostname thouhg. A proper mail server should
have a domain name, like mail.yourdomain.com, and not be refered to
by IP. A really good place to test this out is

Hello -
I am evaluating Post.Office to replace an EIMS/Autoshare setup, and
I am having trouble getting P.O. to run using a numbered domain
name. I have it installed on a test machine that does not have a
named domain and assumed I could just use the IP number of the
machine (again, just for test purposes). Whenever I set this up I
get the message "No valid addresses specified, Installation aborted".
Any help on this would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Tom
