This is close but not quite. With Procmail I can send mail to an individual folder in an account/. Basically, I can offload all of the sorting my mail app does now to the server. This is of benefit if you are using a web based client whicj cannot sort your inbox. It also improves the speed of opening an inbox that gets large numbers of messages. P.O. Filters are good but they do not do what I would like.

Tenon mentioned that this would be looked into some time ago (I have been asking for it since an early beta) but my requests have fallen on deaf ears as of late.

You can do this with PO's filters, just set the Mail_Addr Field to the mail_box you want; can be based on source_address, dest_address, header, or full body content.

filter. It is a full scripting language that you can tie to your email
system (for example, mail comes in, you read the email addresses,
based on
those addresses, you can then generate a custome reply and send)

Take a look at http://www.procmail.org/ to see what can be done.

PO's built-in, server-side mail filtering is the best I've seen; what
sort of filtering it available via "Procmail"? Why would it be a
better option?

I was wondering if anyone is as interested as I am in getting Tenon
to
provide a way to use external apps such as Procmail for server side
filtering and mail processing? I would also like to see a way to hook
something like Mailman in but I know this competes directly with
Tenon
 for
mailing lists. I have suggested Procmail support from the early beta
release of PO for OSX. Just thought it was time to ask agian.

Any progress on this?
