Okay this is a semi-lame response to your request, but when I was 
having trouble with sendmail on another server, I looked into 
forwarding script mails to my PO server.  I ended up fixing the 
sendmail on the other server so I did not pursue the sendmail -> P.O. 
to the end. However, if you download the PDF of the full 400+ page 
manual, and search for sendmail, there are some instructions and 
explanation there. There is also minimal sendmail info in the online 
FAQ at Tenon's site.
