Yep, that's right. I'm using Mac OS X 10.2.8 and unfortunately at
some point I did upgrade my perl version to 5.8.1. ... Well, I
thought I was doing a good thing at the time.
So, no SpamAssassin for me. : c(
: c)
Thanks for all your help guys!

Hi Rino,
I am getting confused. Are you on the same system as Marc? Marc
described his system as 10.2.8, but you are saying that his system
is 10.3.1 Panther? For Panther, it is true that Perl is 5.8.1-RC3.
Our bundled SpamAssassin works fine on Mac OS X 10.3 with Perl
5.8.10RC3. However, if he has Mac OS X 10.2.x, then our bundled
SpamAssassin will only work for Perl 5.6.

Eric

Sorry to tell you this. It seems like you have newer version of perl
installed from somewhere else other than the one supplied by Apple.
Therefore, our spamassassin package can not support your current
system. Our Spamassassin is built to link with Perl 5.6 on Jaguar
only, and it is also built to link with Perl 5.8 on Panther only. You
should find a way to uninstall perl 5.8.0 or upgrade to Panther and
reinstall Post.Office again.

Hi Eric,
This is what I get with perl -v, confirming what Marc is getting from his
version of MacOSX
=====================
This is perl, v5.8.1-RC3 built for darwin-thread-multi-2level
(with 1 registered patch, see perl -V for more detail)

====================
It's absolutely standard perl coming from MacOSX 10.3, updated to 10.3.1 and
the latest security patch. No other perl installed from anywhere.
So it's seems, at least to me, that PO plus spamassasin needs to be relinked
to a new perl.

What happen when you run perl -v?
Normally, it should say v5.6.0 built for darwin for 10.2.x machines.
