SpamAssassin

Okay, color me stupid but can anyone help me with SpamAssassin?

I assumed I could simply create a PO SMTP filter (as per the Tenon 
FAQ) and SA would be up and running, good to go ... I guess not. 
Maybe there is more to it than that?

I guess my question is, how do I use SA?
