Okay everybody, I have a question in reference to this thread.

Let me create a mock scenario for you:

We have an email address, let's call it "admin@xxxxxxx", that we would like to be forwarded to two individuals, "johnny@xxxxxxx" and "cash@xxxxxxx".
There should be no local delivery to admin@xxxxxxx, so I've unchecked all the checkboxes related to Local Delivery Information and entered the addresses (johnny@ and cash@) to receive the mail. That portion of our setup seems to be working fine.

This is where things get interesting. We'd like the ability to send mail out from admin@xxxxxxx, which I would believe we should, since it is a valid email account. However, since the POP3/IMAP4 delivery section is unchecked, I'm not sure if authentication is working properly. In fact, I'm pretty sure it isn't. Here's why - I dialed out of our network and sent an email from admin@xxxxxxx to my email address, as well as a couple others. PostOffice accepted the emails without and with SMTP-Auth, and I received them all successfully. The username for admin@xxxxxxx is NOT admin, so as far as I can determine, the authentication should be SMTP-Auth and not POP before SMTP - but it doesn't seem to be requiring any authentication at all.

Is there something obvious that I'm missing?

Thanks,
Steve
