[Off Topic] SpamAssassin and MRTG
I am messing with MRTG and SA to create some pretty graphs to help monitor SA's
effectiveness.
Here is a link to a site that look like what I am looking for:
http://users.2z.net/rpuhek/scripts_public/spamd/
The parts I am worried about are:
>On both the spamd server and on your MRTG you'll need to add the following (or
>similar) to /etc/services:
> spam-stats 7300/tcp # spam-stats
[snip]
>Then you'll need to get access to spam-stats through the network. Add the
>following line to /etc/inetd.conf on the spamd machine:
>
> spam-stats stream tcp nowait root /usr/local/sbin/spam-stats.pl
> counts
I am guessing that you need to set up this perl script as a daemon to respond
to MRTG requests from the additional perl script
provided. I am thinking that this is not a standard set-up and that I would
need to do this differently on OS X.
The /etc/services file mentions that it is not directly referenced and that all
of this data is stored in NetInfo.
Any ideas or pointers?
I will post a how-to if I can get this up and running.
Dan
