Post.Office
Just a quick note to let you know that I updated the "virus.list"
file for my anti-virus script. It now contains the most common
attachment names of the MyDoom virus and can move those messages to
the quarantine folder. Virex didn't catch too many of those viruses
(probably because of the compression method) however the virus-list
part caught more than 380 viruses in the last 24 hours.
The virus.list file is at http://www.euregio.net/joe/postoffice/virus.list
By the way, the anti-virus script also works if you haven't got Virex
on your server. Just use the configuration wizard to set Virex to
"off" and then only use the attachment blocker and subject rewrite
options.
I'm throwing around some ideas how to turn the cron-job based script
into a continuos monitoring script that runs all the time to catch
new viruses.
Joe.
