Invalid Domain Syntax

I am setting up a new Xserve RAID and it's built-in e-mail notifications.  I 
tried a test e-mail but PO is logging an "Invalid
Domain Syntax" when the Xserve RAID connects and the connection is closed.

Any ideas out there?
