Mailing List question

I have a web form that sends subscribe/unsubscribe requests to my old non-PO server like this:

recipient: wireservice-requests@xxxxxxxxxxx

body:
        subscribe <list name> <email address>
        subscribe <another list name> <same email address>
        etc.

This way a user can subscribe an address to or unsubscribe from any/all of our 8 mailing lists all in one shot.

I can't figure out how to do this with PO mailing lists, looks to me like PO demands a unique request address for each list and thus uniq emails for each subscribe/unsubscribe attempt? So a customer wanting to subscribe to 4 of our lists will have to generate 4 separate emails to 4 different request addresses? I hope I'm reading something wrong.
