In NYC, secure cabinet space goes for ~$30/U/month. (That's just space, environment and power... not bandwidth.) A G3/G4 on it's side is 6U and a G3/G4 in a Marathon rack is 4U. That is a savings of ~60/mo/box. It adds up quickly and pays for itself in no time. YMMV if you're not buying co-lo service in a secure facility in an earthproof building with 36 hours of battery power and 2 weeks of diesel generator power available.


You can probably get 4 or 6 G4 cubes on a single shelf in 6U of vertical space... Now you're talking cost effective!
