this is because of the default install vis-a-vis squid and it's caching
mechanism, I  believe.

I had, using the down loadable version, installed and had WebTen running
very very fast. after a reinstall from the CD they mailed me, it is now
significantly slower.

I believe this is because using BBEdit and opening and manually
reconfiguring the squid.conf file I had set all of it's settings to the
commented defaults. I was not able to do this with the CD installed version
and neither were the tenon tech support people, they could not get it any
where near where I had the first install set.

Today, just now however, through trial and error I got most of it back to
where it was on June 30th, we shall see if it speeds it up.

You see, the default install of WebTen sets the squid cache parameters
seriously weak compared to the commented defaults, way way underneath them.

I believe this affects the performance of squid since that was the only
discernible change in the set-up from one day to the next.
