But as for RAID, there are many HW based solutions for SCSI and
Firewire. You could have tripped over them at MacWorld. APS

produces RAID solutions (19 products listed) and has very good
support for the Mac. These days I'd take teh FireWire HW RAIDs over
SCSI, and you can even plug them into your G4 Cube.
