Hi again,
        I have had a question from a user who is running under a Virtual
Host on my WebTen 3.0.3 server regarding Server Side Includes, which I know
nothing about other than that WebTen supports it.
        Could someone tell me how to activate it (if it isn't already
activated) & also the following, which were his questions:

It is active now w/ a basic install. Just put a .shtml extension on a file and it will be handled by Apache's built in SSI.

The full instructions are installed w/ your WebTen install in the Apache docs under SSI. or you could also browse online at http://www.apache.org/

Does the server support the #include directive?

Yes very easily, see below.

Can I place .shtml files on the server? Yes, see below.

Terry, Just make files called include.inc, and test.shtml and drop them in the root directory of your website. and goto them via Netscape.

        After someone's answered, perhaps they could also tell me what
.shtml files actually are? Also, I read on another list ages ago that
platforms other than Windows can run .asp Has anyone found an ASP package
that will run under WebTen.

There are ASP options under Linux, w/ an open source package, I've never used, but I've read where people are successful w/ it.

Lastly, has anyone found & installed an SQL database under WebTen?

There is one out there unfortunately I forget the name of it. WebTen 3 via PHP4 can query a remote box running MySQL if that helps.
