Re: Caching problem on WebTen
Terry,
Hi again,
I have a problem I have seen mentioned on this list a number of
times, but haven't seen a good answer as yet.
My WebTen 3.0.3 server is caching files I not returning the proper
file when it has changed. One of the users on one of the virtual
hosts uploaded a new index.html file & when called from a browser,
it returned the old file.
You will need reload the file in the cache. do this by holding down
the option key and clicking the reload button in Netscape.
He subsequently deleted that file & is now running all SSI files,
but when he called the file index.html (which now doesn't exist) the
cache returned the old index.html file.
Simply by using that reload feature when you check that your pages
were uploaded correctly, you can make sure that the pages are updated.
I used the flush cache oiption from within WebTen, but then logging
stops, only curable with a restart of the WebTen application. Can
anyone suggest a remedy?
This problem is probably due to the CacheTransferlog not being set in
the server defaults of the WebTen admin. just set it to WebTen.log
and you should not see this logging issue.
Bye for now, Terry Allen
