WebTen
Dear Tenon,
I have a pressing problem. which I will try to keep short and simple
(as if...):
Mac OS 9.0.4, WebTen 3.x (latest but not updateted for IE)
Nothing else running on Mac (G4 130 Meg RAM)
All running on OT.
Server currently running and working well, fast and stable (running
OK for over three weeks) at: www.monti.co.uk (212.58.62.159) Server
co-located on fast network (REDNET UK).
OK I want to get SSL running: I have set up another domain running
as www.agave.co.uk ( on 212.58.62.159) the new domain runs fine.It
configured and installed just fine via the Admin interface. All
seems good. the second domain runs well and is fast and stable.
However if I try to enable SSL the server crash's: I issue a temp
SSL cert (primary cert for www.monti.co.uk)then all goes well but if
I then enable SSL (via admin) the server WILL crash. tried quite a
few times on both domains = always same result.
SO: looked at FAQ and info etc and found the following to be odd:
1.) If I look at the Virtual host page for either (There are ONLY
two) domains BOTH have (at the bottom) the 'DELETE VIRTUAL HOST',
now the literature says that the main server domain WILL NOT HAVE
THIS, so this looks odd and looks to me like I don't have something
set correctly?
As a note: I have tried enabling Tenons TCP stack which I now can
affect the IP settings, these seems to look OK and everything is
running on one IP on OT. Also I have not manually configured any
aspect of the server settings eg .conf, except via WebTen admin.
Anyone any clues as to where I start to trouble shoot this...and I
am desperate.
I am running this up on a local test Mac as you read this just to
see how a clean install looks+SSL (temp Cert)
I take it that I can apply for a real cert and install it when I get
the server running or can the temp CSR be corrupted by my settings?
ie if the temp cert does not work the real on won't either!
Regards
Mark.
ps all above posted to support@xxxxxxxxxx
OK, I have done a clean install of WebTEN and issued a temp cert. The
same thing happens. An obvious effect is that the secure connection
does run but the CACHE quits and then the server stalls and fails
(requiring a restart or force quit).
I would guess this indicates something wrong with the default
install. Anyone any ideas?
I am going to try removing every last trace of Tenon files on the
system, Install WebTen and see if that works?
Regards
Mark.
