Are you running a thrid party Ethernet card?

I had that problem for some reason with an Asante Card, replaced it with a Farallon and it works fine now.

Hi again,
I've had a fairly stable setup on my Power Mac 7300/200 128MB RAM OS 8.6 for a while now, but over the last week, it's becoming periodically 'deaf' to any network activity & requires a restart to be able to ping it from another machine or to access either WebTen or NetTen.
I have asked about this beforem, but have never seen anything in the way of a real answer. This has occured straight after 2 complete installs of the Mac OS, following reformatting of the drive, as well as after month's of running without the problem. Any ideas?
Bye for now, Terry Allen (heard.com.au)
