You know, your right, the shell in webten supports most basic unix commands
- just no editor.
We don't really like to talk about that invisible, secret UNIX inside
WebTen, but if you want an editor, why not use a Mac editor like
BBEdit. Note that BBEdit even comes configured with options to save
file with UNIX-style carriage return/line feeds. The tight
integration with the Mac file system gives you the flexibility to use
Mac tools on "UNIX" files.
