What is the last thing (software or hardware wise) you have done with the
machine before it started to exhibit these problems? It is more than likely a
RAM issue. Try pulling and reseating the RAM or remove one DIMM at a time and
see if anything changes. I assume that with the RAM you have, it is (3) 128MB
DIMMs-pulling one at a time should not affect performance drastically. What I
have found in my years of experience is that if you cant explain certain
strange behavior or random errors, RAM is a good place to start. Good luck.
