The 7500/8500/9500 series was the first to take DIMMs (Dual Inline
Memory Modules) - they were also Apple's first machines to have a PCI bus
and take 512+ MB of RAM.

Her machine, Apple's first PowerMac, was designed for a maximum of 64MB
RAM (two 32MB SIMMs - Single Inline Memory Modules), as Mehboob noted. It
also was pure NuBus and PDS. The configuration she indicated is not
possible in a 6100, since SIMMs must be installed in pairs, and 2x64MB +
1x8MB is not in pairs. :) Plus, I'm looking @ the internals of a 6100 right
now...there are only 2 RAM slots (versus the 7500's 8).

The only way to get more memory into a 6100 is to violate Apple's
specifications - either through installing 64MB SIMMs or adding more
memory/slots through a PDS upgrade.

Well, there's my 2 cents... By the way - I must agree that Tenon's
products (at least WebTen) didn't perform wonderfully (on the PowerBook G3,
7500, Starmax 4200, and other machines I tried). However, I must say that
Tenon's staff have been more than professional in attempting to assist my
company in getting the software to function, and kindly offered us a rebate
two months after we bought the software. (We haven't received it yet, I
might add... :) )

I think that Tenon has a better future ahead of it than some of us might
think, since iTools and related products are poised to capture the Linux
market, at least in situations where a Unix-capable admin is not an option.
Right now, I think Tenon is stretched too thin - OS X will probably force
them to abandon their current product line (in theory), and re-evaluate
their corporate strategy, which can only be good.

Meanwhile, I'm keeping an open mind. Good luck, Tenon!

                            Sincerely,

                            Robert Vogt IV
