If you are using Squid then it takes care of the logging entry for you, and
you need to comment out a couple of lines in the squid.conf file to get
referer to work.
the line looks like this:
#log_http_hdrs Referer User-Agent
If you are not using Squid then you can add this:
\"%{Referer}i\" \"%{User-Agent}i\"
