Terry,

here is some info:
Hi again,
Finally, the deafness on the built-in ethernet on our 7300 server
has gotten out of hand, so I've ordered a pari of PCI 10/100 cards (one for
WebTen & the other for NetTen). I have a question for anyone who has a
similar setup.
Obviously, I need 3 different IP addresses for these cards (no
problem there).

actually, you only really need 2 since I assume you are not going to be using the built-in.

When setting up WebTen & NetTen to run under the Tenon
TCP/IP stack, do I just select 'Replace Open Transport' in the preferences
for both applications & add an appropriate entry in the DNS for the new
NetTen IP? I won't see the cards until Wednesday, but would like to be
armed with this knowledge in advance so I can just plug 'em in & go.

Here is what I would do:

set up NetTen to use OpenTransport and WebTen to use tenon stack (no port conflicts that way). Choose one of your new cards in the the TCP/IP control panel.

Start WebTen holding down the option key. This will bring up the preferences. enter all of the info for WebTen including the new IP address and checkmark the 'Replace Open Transport' box. Save the preferences, WebTen will quit. Then Disable the MacTCPd.lib in the Tenon Libraries Folder (drag it to the Disabled folder). This will have WebTen running on the built in Ethernet card. Then, use the following paper to get WebTen running on the other new ethernet card:

send mail to support if you need any details on this.

You will of course need to change any DNS settings if NetTen and WebTen previously had the same IP address.
