Secure Certificate info please

Hi again,
        I've never enabled WebTen's SSL before, but I am assisting a friend
with a massive pair of clients & his server has gone 'on holidays' for want
of a better term - I have registered for a Cert with Thawte which should
come through on Monday afternoon, just in time for this project to go live
- can anyone outline anything I should know in order to set this up better
or more quickly?
        Obviously, I'm going to back my cert key up to a CD, but anything
else would be really helpful - thanks for your help.
