        Well, have you tried upgrading to 9.1? I have certainly never heard
of the problem you're having. What does the date modified list look like on
the actual machine?
        Do you have anything unusual in your extension folder - it may even
be corrupted finder preferences - try trashing those & restarting the
machine.
