JSP, MySQL & Virtual hosts- with some success

So I managed to get JSP running, connecting to mySQL and basically behaving
itself. I have a couple of questions that I am hoping some of you may be
able to answer - I can't be the first person to set this up ??

How do I get JSP to run in Apache virtual hosts ? I want users to be able to
upload into their own directory and not the
/library/webserver/tomcat/webapps/ROOT/ directory to run this stuff..any
ideas?

How do I get tomcat to run when I type www.domain.com and not have to add
the :8080 to the end of the domain?

Lastly, how do you set passwords and create users in mySQL ?
