iTools
Alain, Stace,
We have been very successful running QTSS with all versions of
iTools. I have not heard of any problems until now...
Alain,
I've been running QTSS with iTools since OSXS 1.0. Pretty much never had any
problems. Due to the large number of end users behind firewalls (an almost
alarming number do not have UDP ports open to allow native QT streaming)
I've always kept QTSS locked to its own IP to allow use of port 80 tunneling
when necessary. On OS 10.0.3 with iTools 6.02, QTSS does break the webserver
control in the iTools web based admin.
We have never experienced this in our testing. What is the exact
problem you are having? iTools and QTSS should interact with no
problems.

I have not installed the 6.1 update
to see if this has been fixed. In either case, apachectl works fine via
command line. Make sure you have plenty of RAM and good luck!

Also.. This should be old news but anyone serving QuickTime should carefully
read:
http://www.apple.com/quicktime/products/tutorials/activex.html
and consider updating all of their <EMBED> tags.
Has anyone on the list successfully set up streaming server with OSX and
iTools ?
Any comments or thoughts appreciated
Alain
