Is there any possible way to convert a Webstar Cert to one that
Apache can use?
Nope, although the certificate itself would be very similar, the key
file and cert are a matched pair, and the key file gets generated as
a part of the server application, so each is slightly different.
Also, on another tangent, I notice on the www.netcraft.com site that
www.apple.com is running Apache/1.3.9 (Mac OS X Server) on MacOSX,
yet my stock OSX Server 2.0 server shows up as Apache/1.3.19
(Darwin) on unknown. Any ideas as to why Apple's server reports to
be different than mine? And I notice www.tenon.com is running
Apache/1.3.12 (iTools/MacOSXS). I'm a little confused as to what
version of Apache I should want to be running?? I'm not talking
about the difference between Apache with or without iTools. I'm
just talking about the core Apache version that is being deployed.
You want the latest version of Apache, updates often include patches
to security holes.
