I only have Mac OSX ( client? ), not sure how the Apple tools stuff is
handled on the 10.x Server.

I would assume if installed properly, it would start automatically.
You can look in /System/Library/StartupItems to see if there is a MySQL
item there. You might also check /var/log/system.log for errors, etc.
