Re: iTools and QuickDNS Pro 3.5
After my previous comments about the affect of the worm on my smaller server
with 128 meg I spent a few hours going through logs over a months time.
The worm is a memory resident Virus. Within 1 month it has change (probably by
the vast number of server it has attacked) from an occassional hit from one IP
to multiple hits from multiple IP's at a single moment.
Theoretically if it is allowed to grow it will be able to inendate a very
large chunk of memory in a rather short period of time.
I am going to see if I can write a crontab that will detect a flood on memory
and automatically either reboot or flush memory to avoid crashes.
my programming in the Unix environment is limited so if anyone has any good
ideas feel free to share.
