Re: IP Address Oddness ??
Howdy:
We are currently using a different IP address for each virtual host,
and I have assigned the IP numbers of .36 and .39 to two test sites one
of our clients is using. Since the domains they are testing are
currently registered elsewhere, their only access is by IP address (
http://209.42.51.36, etc. ).
The odd thing is that when they enter the IP address as 209.42.51.036
Well, that's not really a correct IP address, so people should be
discouraged from using it.
they get one of our regular vhosts ( assigned IP .30 ), but if they use
209.42.51.36 they get the correct vhost test space.
To add to the confusion, when they enter either 209.42.51.39 or
209.42.51.039 they end up in the same and correct test space for that
vhost.
Any suggestions why .036 does not equal .36?
The specific reason it doesn't work, is that the virtual host doesn't
recognize it, add the weird IP address to the server alias section.
