Re: Fwd: Re: >>> Secure Admin?
Thanks for trying to help Eric.
I drove over to the colo and per your suggestion, added a non-SSL
virtual host with the same name. Here's the current situation:
- I cannot access the admin web server remotely using any of the URLs
mentioned in my previous post.
- going to www.zada.com lands you at
Library/WebServer/Documents/index.html.en. (the Apache default page)
- oddly, the site content _can_ be viewed by going to
https://www.zada.com:443/ which was one of the URLs I hoped might get
me into the admin server, but does not
- https://www.zada.com:443/itools_admin/ brings up another password dialog
I'll drive over tomorrow and disable the SSL, and make due with
non-secure administration. I'd say that secure admin is not ready
for prime time until it is documented somewhere very clearly or
perhaps debugged more thoroughly.

Hazlitt,
remember,
If you enable SSL for a virtual host, you will need to also and a
non-SSL virtual host with the same name if you want to access it
both ways.
