We have had one client request a "high security" cert, for reasons that made
sense. The majority of the certs I've seen have been 32bit. Once we got that
request, I started searching and found that very few people use the higher
grade encryptions.
I asked a bunch of friends in the industry that same question on another
list. Here are some of the responses...
If you are using AFP or anything else to connect to the server, HFS is the
only way to go. Apple also recommends HFS now that the "real" os-x is
available. I'd also go out on a limb and say that most software is written
with the expectation of being on HFS volumes. We had problems with
CommuniGate upgrade because we were trying to put it on a UFS volume. It
wasn't anything that anyone could put their finger on, it just never really
worked that well. We re-formatted the drive as HFS and have yet to have a
problem with it.
