Re: Itools no longer works
if you can do it with a gui program and not unix commands, that would
be even better for us experienced os 9 and below users.

Also,
The errors I was getting on the reboot was the permission denied in
fastcgi folder. I kept changing the permissions until it got away
from that folder and it's nested folders and then it gave me the ssl
key error. I was able to view these errors by typing in apachectl
restart without the sudo prefix.
Now that I've removed the website I added and again reinstalled
Itools and I can now reboot normally with Itools starting
automatically.
Somebody do me a favor and try and drop any file into the
/etc/ssl/private folder and let me know how they achieved that. I
promise to write up a step by step sheet and post it so that anybody
with as little unix knowledge as myself can refer to it and not have
to post to the list anymore.

I have now run a program that repairs to default all privileges of the

Still no go.
I am also unable to get the webserver in the sharing control panel to
successfully shutdown so I can restart it. It says it's running but I
can't even get local access 127.0.0.1
Hi again,
Well, I had very similar trouble to what you're having during my
configuration - I did reformat - SSL was one of the weirdest things to get
running - rebooted a number of times without any changes & it just came up
& worked.
Are you using a real IP address & connected to a router - I had the
real IP address & had it set to use 127.0.0.1 as the router address in
TCP/IP in the sys prefs panel. Once I set it to connect to the proper
router, most of my config issues disappeared.
Open up the terminal & enter
# sudo apachetcl configtest
It should return some sort of response - some of my problems with
being unable to connect to the machine were that the httpd.conf file became
corrupted & I had to manually repair it. If you do get an error, it should
tell you the line which is at fault, you'll need to navigate to the
/etc/httpd directory in the terminal & type:
# pico httpd.conf
Then, you can edit that file using the pico program & save the
file. Retype apachetcl configtest as above & if OK, type:
# apachetcl restart
Hope this helps.
Bye for now, Terry Allen
