Re: Itools no longer works
I have now run a program that repairs to default all privileges of
the system to their original settings.
I reinstalled Itools
Still no go.
I am also unable to get the webserver in the sharing control panel to
successfully shutdown so I can restart it. It says it's running but
I can't even get local access 127.0.0.1

I'm in the process of transferring a site with SSL from Webten to Itools.
I have 4 test sites that work just fine without ssl, permissions are
changeable by the ftp user, and they get in with ftp just fine.
I add the new site it works.
I create ssl so I can replace it with the webten files, I create those.
I have to change the permissions on the folder certs so I can drag
and drop the cert files in, fine, did that and reverted them back to
their original settings.
I try to change the permissions for /etc where I have to put the key
file of the certs, but no go. It won't let me change it to visible.
(I"m using Super Get Info from bare bones for all these permission
changes.)
Fine, I'll make sure everything else is working and then get the key in.
I ftp in only to discover that what worked on the previous 4 sites
no longer works, I'm in a directory, but it is blank. The website
still serves, but the ftp won't work.
I reboot the server.
Now Itools is inaccessible, the webserver won't work, but I can
still do other network tasks such as browse from that computer.
I have reinstalled Itools twice now, the 6.5.4 version and it still
won't start.
This is why I held off for so long in the transition.
I have no idea how to get the webserver back up and running except
to reformat the machine and start from scratch.
Any ideas?
