Forum software?

Hi,

I have to set up a couple of discussion forums for a client. I was thinking
about just using one of the free PHP forums out there, but there's so many -
I'm no longer sure that it's the best way to go.

What do people on this list prefer for forum software? Free or commercial
doesn't matter. I can do PHP customization no problem. I just want it to be
ready and working on iTools/MacOSX .
