post dated 15 july (about a user error probably ;-) :

My website use PHP scrpits which send email to users upon
registration. It has bee working flawlessly for years through
many upgrades (from itools 5 to 6 to 6.5 to 6.5.4) but now
no email get sent anymore (from any of my websites) !

Note that the owner of /var/spool/clientmqueue is smmsp
(and not root) :
drwxrwx---  20 smmsp   smmsp   636 Jul  5 16:31 clientmqueue
Could that be the source of problem ?

As root i listed the files in clientmqueue and found files
created from 26 Jun to 28 Jun, no new ones. It may be possible
that my server does not work since the 26 Jun and that no more
email where sent since that date. Also it seems that no more
output get written to the queue since the 28 Jun.

I recently installed Post.Office.

Checking my itools admin web interface show that
Sendmail is Stopped and trying to Start it display:
"Startup Problem: There seems to be a prior instance of
post.office running. post.office Exiting!"

Please help me.
