The sendmail issue is that Mac OS X 10.1.5 has the wrong permissions
on the /var/spool/clientmqueue folder.
The permissions should be:
drwxrwx--- 6 root smmsp 160 Jun 12 11:32 clientmqueue
Not:
drwxrwx--- 6 root wheel 160 Jun 12 11:32 clientmqueue
No cgis that use sendmail will work.
The solution is to enter :
sudo chgrp smmsp /var/spool/clientmqueue
in the Terminal Application.
My website use PHP which send email to users upon registration.
It seems that this does not work anymore.
I notice that the owner of clientmqueue is smmsp and not root:
drwxrwx--- 20 smmsp smmsp 636 Jul 5 16:31 clientmqueue
Could that be the source of problem ?
As root i listed the files in clientmqueue and found files
created from 26 Jun to 28 Jun, no new ones. It may be possible
that my server does not work since the 26 Jun and that no more
email where sent since that date. Also it seems that no more
output get written to the queue since the 28 Jun.
I now check my itools admin web interface and notice
(it must be recent because I am not THAT dumb) that
Sendmail is Stopped and trying to Start it does not work!
This maybe also due to my recent install of Post.Office.
Help!
Can anybody help me ? What shall I provide to help narrowing the issue?
