Hi again,
Cool,
that's pretty much what I wanted to know. A real shame about the
quotas, but I guess there are ways around it. I suppose the problem
may well be to do with HFS+ as opposed to UFS - disk quotas are
supposed to work under UFS.
Obviously, the best thing is to have a mirrored backup in case
something goes haywire.
2
things from your reply - you mention that the update takes 'a long
time' to 10.2 - what kind of timeframe are we talking?
The
other thing - you mentioned a couple of things with the update,
'certain changes in your configuration' & 'iTools settings should
be preserved'. What changes will we be looking at in terms of the
configuration of the system & are you saying that there are no
changes to the iTools settings - a simple reinstall of the iTools
package will suffice? That's great news if it turns out to be
true.
The update took 4 hours on a 400Mhz G4
Powerbook, and it depends on your system.
There will be changes to your system
preference, and minor changes to your desktop etc. iTools
configurations will just stay in the harddisk, but the binaries will
be replaced by Apple's
apache binaries. After you install
10.2, webperfcache will be loaded again. Update iTools will
disable webperfcache again.
regards,
Eric
Hi again,
4 Hours!!! You've got to be kidding me! My system is a Blue &
White G3 tower - I hope it takes a LOT less than that.
Bye for
now, Terry Allen
