Hi Terry,

10.2 can upgrade over 10.1.5, but there will be certain changes
to your existing configuration.  You can choose the option in
Apple Installer to archive your existing system, if you are unsure
about the upgrade.  It will also take a very long period
of time to finish the upgrading process.

10.2 Server will support Quota from the System Manager UI, but 10.2 Desktop
does not support Quota on any UI tools.  I tried to enable quota
on a 10.2 Desktop, but the included utilities did nothing.

10.2 will disconnect iTools 6.x from working.  All of the settings should be
preserved but you will need to install iTools 6.5.5 to bring iTools functionalities
back.

Just wait until 10.2 is arrived and upgrade to iTools 6.5.5 after 10.2 is installed.

regards,
Eric

Hi again,
A couple of questions for Tenon here which I think will probably
interest most others planning to move to 10.2 as Tenon will no doubt have
been inspecting 10.2 in their development. I ask these as I have just
placed my order for 10.2 which ships on August 24th

Is 10.2 simply a matter of installing over 10.1.5 (upgrade)?

Will 10.2 support disk quotas & if so, will iTools be able to support these
also?

When installing 10.2 over previous OSX, does this wipe out any iTools settings?

If it does wipe out settings, how do we back them up to ensure a continuity
of service?

Once we have 10.2 in place, is iTools simply a reinstall as per normal updates?

I currently have iTools 6.5.4 in place - do I need to upgrade to 6.5.5 &
the security updates prior to installing 10.2 or just wait until 10.2
arrives, then reinstall iTools?

Thanks for any help you can give here.

        Bye for now, Terry Allen
