I've had the same problem; is this a bug?

Scary huh?

I dare not change a users' password via iTools web-interface... every time I have in the past any files that, that user owned became owned by a non-existent user called '[that user's user ID!]'. So, for example, the files belonging to user (named) 'tim' became owned by user (named) '401'! Just another reason to be scared to touch iTools!

Hello All,

Apologies if this has been covered - I did search the list but got no answers.

We were happily running iTools 6.5.7 on OS X Server 10.1.4.
A colleague updated the server to 10.1.5 and after reinstalling the iTools.pkg from the command line everything was working with the exception of one ftp user.

The user could login to their home (site) directory but couldn't see any files at all. The permissions were correct, including ftpguest as the group but no files could be downloaded or uploaded nor even seen!

After much head scratching I deleted the user from the Users page in iTools Admin and then noticed that I still had to delete the user using niutil. I then recreated the user using iTools Admin - but the password didn't work <bizarre>.

So I changed the password (actually used the same one) via the command line and glory be - the user could ftp AND see their files.

All v.strange - I've checked a couple of other users and they seem OK - just hope that the remaining 50 users are still working.....time shall tell...

Is this a netinfo or an iTools issue?

thanks
adam.
