iTools
access controls for system user folders broken...
Hi List,
I am in the middle of a tight setup deadline and i need some quick feedback:
I am trying to set up access controls (what i used to do using .htaccess
files) using the iTools7 interface. I want to give tilde system users (i.e.,
~username) password protected sites. When i use the cool access control page
I am able to create a protected directory. Yay! Remember, you have to type a
Realm Name!
But, when i try to go and password protect another tilde user, it wipes out
access to the previous one. When i go to the user's home site, the browser
says 'configuration error' and the error in the error_log for the virtual
site is:
configuration error: couldn't perform authentication. AuthType not set!:
/~nwwp/
Now several seconds previous to this error I was able to get to this user's
home site using the password in the dialog box thrown up by the browser. Why
does creating another access control for a totally different directory do
this?
The new access control realm works until I try to create another one. It
seems as if the current interface only allows one tilde system user's home
site to be protected at at time. At this point I am just guessing since I
don't even know where to look for the .htaccess and .htpasswd files I
presume iTools is generating.
Any insights into this problem?
Best,
dan
