Hi List,
Does anyone know how to uninstall MySQL and phpMyAdmin installs properly? I
installed them, messed with them and now I want to reinstall and start
fresh.
Only, every time that I try to use the nice Tenon .pkg installer to
re-install, it does what it calls an 'upgrade', tells me there were errors
and quits halfway through.
I decided to rip the MySQL and phpMyAdmin dirs out by hand (rm -R). That
worked (using su root first). But the .pkg installer still gives the same
error...
What do i do now? There is no uninstall option in the .pkg which is why I
tried rm-R in the first place...
Then, I looked at the Receipts directory and see that there are still bits
and pieces hanging around:
shell> lsbom /Library/Receipts/MySQL.pkg/Contents/Resources/MySQL.bom | grep
-v /Library/Tenon/MySQL |grep -v /Library/Tenon/phpMyAdmin

It looks like those things that were modified deal with getting the iTools
web interface to know about the new MySQL functionality and putting it on
the main 'pref pane' page. But something in there is telling the .pkg not to
perform a raw install - diverting it into an upgrade install.
What do i need to do to basically start fresh with MySQL and phpMyAdmin?
TIA,
dan
